Healing With Herbs Workshop: Teas, Tinctures & Traditional Herbal Products at Omega Therapies
There’s something special about slowing down to explore the colours, scents and stories of herbs. To celebrate the new and improved herbal section at Omega Therapies in Redditch, we’re inviting you to join our Healing With Herbs Workshop: a friendly, practical introduction to traditional herbal preparations.
Herbs have a long place in household traditions and seasonal rituals. This workshop is a chance to learn about that heritage, explore different ways herbs are prepared, and enjoy trying things out together in a welcoming community setting.
The word “healing” is part of the workshop’s name; it isn’t a promise of a health outcome. The class is for education, enjoyment and personal interest. It does not offer medical advice or replace care from a qualified healthcare professional.
Join us in Redditch
Healing With Herbs Workshop Saturday 17th October, 1pm to 2.30pm £10 per person
There will be lots of practical sessions, so this is more than a talk where you simply sit and listen. We’ll explore the traditions and everyday interest around herbs, with opportunities to make and try things out.
Please call the centre on 01527 585023 to book. This is a popular class, so booking is recommended.

Exploring herbs through teas, tinctures, baths and more
Herbs can be encountered in many different forms. At the workshop, we’ll explore preparations such as teas, tinctures, baths and syrups, along with other traditional ways herbs have been used in homes and cultural practices.
You’ll have time to look closely, notice different textures and aromas, and get involved in the practical side of the session. It’s a chance to ask questions, share curiosity and learn in a relaxed group, not just take notes from a presentation.
People have used herbs in a variety of traditions across generations. During the workshop, we’ll approach these histories as part of herbal heritage and personal interest, rather than as claims about what a plant can do for an individual. Every person and every product is different, and the class won’t make recommendations for treating a health condition.
If you already use herbal products, check their ingredients and follow the product information. Some herbs may be unsuitable for certain people or may interact with medicines. If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, or unsure whether a product is suitable for you, speak with a doctor or pharmacist before using it. The NHS overview of herbal medicines and complementary therapies offers further general information.
Discover the revamped herbal section
The workshop is a lovely opportunity to visit our refreshed herbal section, too. Our labelled wooden cubbies are filled with individually bagged herbs and herbal teas, making it easy to browse and see what catches your eye.
You’ll find signature blends Mindful Meditation and On Angel’s Wings, as well as special brews with names including cleansing, uplifting, relaxing and sleepy. These blends are for enjoyment and personal interest; their names are not promises of a medical or health effect.
Our seasonal Wiccan sabbat blends mark Imbolc, Litha, Mabon and Samhain, a little nod to the turning of the year and the traditions surrounding it. We also have magical herb blends with a hidden matching crystal inside. Please take care, as there is a crystal inside: remove it before preparing or tasting any blend, and keep it safely aside.
Chamomile is £2.20. Please ask in the centre for prices of the other herbs and products. You can read more about the revamped herbal department or browse our online shop.

Make an afternoon of it
There’s plenty to enjoy around your visit. Before or after the class, take a look around the shop, browse the half-price table, or stop by the coffee bar. It’s a chance to meet other people from the local community and discover the centre at your own pace.
Whether you’re new to herbs or already enjoy learning about their traditions, you’ll be welcome. Bring your curiosity and come ready to explore; the practical sessions offer a friendly way to learn together.
